FFV: Three Dandenong area sides progress is state cup

Three Dandenong area sides made it through to the fifth round of the Football Federation Victoria State Knockout Cup on Saturday.

Dandenong Thunder, Springvale White Eagles and Dandenong City all claimed wins in their fourth round clashes.

Adam Casey, Craig Elvin and Ross Thompson were all on target as the Thunder beat Peninsula Strikers 3-1 in Frankston.

The Thunder fell behind early after a deflected free kick found their goal but the Victorian Premier League side responded with an equaliser from Casey, then stormed to victory.

Springvale White Eagles overcame a slow start to beat Berwick City 3-1 at the Serbian Sports Centre while Dandenong City beat Kingston City 2-0.

Former Dandenong-based club Southern Stars also scored a win, beating Gippland league club Churchill United 3-0.

The next round match-ups have yet to be announced.
