Glassing at Noble Park fight

A MAN was glassed in the head during an early morning fight at a unit in Noble Park last Saturday.

Police say three alcohol-affected men, in their early 20s, began arguing about 2.20am during a gathering for family and friends.

They left the unit for 30 minutes and when they returned, one of the men had a serious cut to his head and a puncture wound to his shoulder.

The man was treated at The Alfred hospital.

Jail over sawn-off gun

A MAN has been jailed for four months after walking past Dandenong North shops with a concealed sawn-off gun.

The 30-year-old man was carrying a black sports bag when stopped by police outside Menzies Avenue shops at at 4.50pm last Friday.

The bag contained a sawn-off 22-calibre rifle.

The man yesterday pleaded guilty in the Dandenong Magistrates Court to firearms offences and was imprisoned.

KFC staff member held up

A FRONT-counter attendant was held up at knife point at a KFC outlet in Noble Park last night.

Police say she was approached by a Caucasian male, who had walked out of the toilet wielding a large hunting-style knife at about 8.45pm.

He demanded cash and was handed a small amount of money. He fled along Princes Highway towards Dandenong.

The male is described as aged 17-25 and was wearing a dark-hooded top.

Empty-handed

A KNIFE-WIELDING man fled empty handed after an attempted robbery at a Keysborough bottle shop last Thursday.

The man brandished a pocket knife and demanded money from the FoodWorks bottle shop’s attendant about 1.10pm.

Police say the attendant ran into the store’s main grocery section and the would-be robber fled empty handed along Corrigan Road.

The man is described as Caucasian, and wore blue jeans, white Adidas sneakers and a black-hooded jacket with a ‘Choppers’ logo on the back.

Bullets fired

SIX bullets were shot into a vacant factory in Dandenong South last Thursday night.

A car was heard driving from the scene after 22-calibre shots were fired just before midnight.

Shift workers were toiling at neighbouring factories but no one was at the factory at the time.
