Guilty plea over Mt Waverley bashing

A father and son, of Noble Park and Dandenong respectively, have pleaded guilty to bashing and robbing a 91-year-old woman in her Mt Waverley home.

The woman was attacked in September last year and suffered serious injuries, including bleeding on the brain, a cut to the head and two black eyes. Gino Kovac, 50, and his son, Michael, 30, appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday via video link from prison.

They pleaded guilty to charges of robbery, burglary, theft and intentionally causing serious injury and were remanded to appear in the County Court on March 26 for a plea hearing.
