DDCA: Buckley's chance to take home Turf 1 flag as Ridges takes on Mordiallic in grand final

BUCKLEY Ridges will carry the hopes of Greater Dandenong when it battles Mordialloc in the DDCA Turf 1 grand final at Keysborough Reserve this Saturday and Sunday.

The Ridges won their way into the final after beating Dandenong West on Sunday with the Ridges making 8-275cc on the first day powered by a Troy Aust century with the keeper making 115.

On the second day the Bulls weren’t able to chase down the total and were eventually bowled out for 184 with Jonny Lash (6-39) the major wicket-taker.

Minor premiers Mordialloc ended up too strong for Springvale South despite being bowled out for 142 on the first day with the Bloods unable to go any further than 9-87 with Mordy star Chathura Athukorala dominating with bat and ball making 41 and taking 6-33.

In Turf 2, Cranbourne will face Lyndale for the premiership and the right to move into Turf 1 next season.
