DDCA: Buckleys in with chance to take home Turf 1 flag

BUCKLEY Ridges is in a strong position entering the DDCA Turf 1 grand final at Keysborough Reserve this weekend.

The Ridges are 3-162 from 70 overs after rain stopped play for the majority of Saturday and parts of Sunday.

The DDCA have called in their reserve days so play will be extended to this Saturday and part of this Sunday as the Turf finals need to play through 180 overs.

Dan Watson is 87 not out from 156 balls with captain-coach Marc Culkin on two not out.

Greg Todd made 54 before going out in the final hours of play on Sunday.

In Turf 2, Lyndale is within reach of a first innings win in its Turf 2 grand final against Cranbourne at Alex Nelson Reserve this Saturday.

The Dales are 1-102 chasing Cranbourne’s 160 all out with Dale Tormey (57 not out) and Jaime Brohier (37 not out).

In Cranbourne’s innings, Dales bowler Michael Gallagher took wickets throughout the innings to finish with 6-43.

Play resumes on Saturday.
