Hunt for armed bandits

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two armed robberies in Dandenong on 10 January.
About 8.30pm on a footpath behind Lorraine Street, Dandenong, a 74-year-old man approached a group and asked if they knew anything about his broken fence.
A boy aged about 15 produced a knife and demanded the victim’s money and pocket contents.
The man handed over his keys and the boy and three accomplices left.
Later that day, four teens entered the 7-11 store at the corner of Stud Road and Clow Street, Dandenong, produced a pair of scissors and demanded cash from the 45-year-old operator.
They refused and called Triple-Zero. Police said customers waited outside, too afraid to enter.
When no money was handed over, the teens stole biscuits and chocolates and left on foot.
One also took a fire extinguisher and sprayed it at a 51-year-old woman outside.
Police urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
