Fair pay for fair work

THE Fair Work Ombudsman has recovered $5000 for a Chinese national who was underpaid wages at a Springvale retail business in 2011 and 2012.
Acting Fair Work Ombudsman Michael Campbell said employers lacking knowledge of employee entitlements commonly caused underpayments.
“These businesses have now corrected the errors that led to the underpayments and put processes in place to ensure they will not happen again,” he said.
Employers can visit www.fairwork.gov.au for tools and resources to help them determine the correct pay for their employees, work standards and entitlements.
Employers and employees can also call the Fair Work Infoline on 13 13 94, follow @fairwork_gov_au on Twitter or find fairwork.gov.au on Facebook.
