COOMOORA Cricket Club is back where it belongs, according to club secretary Angela Wijeratne.
After winning the Dandenong District Cricket Association (DDCA) Turf Two grand final against Hallam last week, Coomoora will be promoted to Turf One, replacing the Southern Pirates.
Coomoora made 262, beating Hallam (238) by 24 runs after winning the toss and batting.
Opener Andrew King was the star of the show for Coomoora, scoring 89 runs.
King was well-supported by lower order batsman Rizan Mowzoon, who smashed a much-needed half-century late in the day.
Coomoora has played in Turf Two for the past three years and captain Rohan Paulpillai is looking forward to returning to the DDCA’s top grade.
