ALL OF the action at the EasterNats remained on the track this year, to the delight of local traffic police.
The annual burnout, doughnut, drag racing and drifting event last year went awry when patrons left Sandown Raceway, forcing police to hand out more than 100 penalty notices.
But at this year’s event, which fell on the Easter long weekend, patrons leaving the venue were better behaved according to Greater Dandenong Traffic Management Unit Acting Senior Sergeant Colin Huth.
“We’ve had a couple of drink drivers in the vicinity, but we’re not certain they are associated with the event. We have been reasonably happy with the way nearly all of the attendees behaved.
“There were only a couple of individuals we had to deal with, but overall the performance was great by most who attended.”
Act Sen Sgt Huth said police seized only one car for failing to comply with keeping the action on the Sandown track.
