Nocturnal night walks
ARTISTS will bring central Dandenong to life during Nocturnal, and guided night walks will help visitors make the most of it.
The torch-lit walks are family-friendly and free, but bookings are essential.

A group for men
JOIN a monthly men’s group at The Open Door.
This month participants will watch a DVD and discuss it afterwards. Those who attend will be able to enjoy an easy time in the company of others in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

LEARN how to replicate the flavours of the world’s best roasted street food at home in this cooking demonstration series at Dandenong Market.
The Central American sandwich pan con lechon and the Kenyan nyama choma will be among four dishes on the menu.

Winter DIY projects
BUNNINGS Warehouse in Dandenong, Keysborough and Springvale will host free DIY workshops each weekend in June.
It will cover window and storage solutions, energy and water saving advice and more. Free kids workshops will include craft activities, mosaic workshops and more.

Music gets cool
FREE concerts will herald the cooler months, with the winter component of Greater Dandenong’s Hot and Cool music program at the Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre kicking off.
The eight concerts include electronic artist Gillian Lever and her band The Vainglories presenting a range of melancholic melodies and lullabies, and Noriko Tadano taking the audience to the exotic east with traditional Japanese folk instrument the shamisen.

PARTICIPANTS will put discussions about night photography into practice in central Dandenong at the Light Painting Photography Workshop.

Celebrate refugees
REFUGEE Week celebrations in Dandenong for 12 to 25-year-olds will include storytelling and a dance party.
From 4.30pm to 6.30pm, young people and their families will be invited to share their experiences and Melbourne Playback Theatre Company will develop these into short skits.
From 7pm to 11.30pm, the Ballistik Dance Party will feature DJs playing hip hop, dance and Afghan music, dance crews, rappers, competitions and prizes.
