Arsonists strike

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two fires in Greater Dandenong last week.
Vandals set alight a timber fence on Princes Highway, Noble Park North, about 1.45pm Monday 22 September.
The fire caused extensive damage to a fence and required CFA attendance.
About 2.55pm the same day, a deliberately-lit fire destroyed a large hedge at the front of a property on James Street, Dandenong.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Adam Dixon said the hedge was close to a home and could have spread if CFA crews had not responded so quickly.
He urged witnesses to either fire to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Greater Dandenong CIU on 9767 7487.
