Power revs up their passion

A FREE event at Chisholm’s Dandenong campus got engines revving earlier this month.
Milwaukee Power Tools Australia provided Showtime FMX Team demonstrations, a Ford Performance Racing V8 Supercar Team guest appearance, prizes and giveaways on Thursday 2 October.
Milwaukee brand manager Tom Mathiesen said students got to interact with the riders and check out demonstrations and jumps.
“We had some power sessions which gave Chisholm’s students the chance to learn from our team,” he said.
V8 Super Car driver Chaz Mostert spoke about the industry and careers in V8s, just over a week before his come from behind Bathurst win.
Chisholm engineering, technology and trades executive director Andrew Kong said working with Motocross or V8s were dream careers for many students.
“So for them to meet the teams and ask questions of these guys is an opportunity that will really drive their passion for the industries,” he said.
“To see the real-life application of skills they are learning in class is always great.”
