IT WAS a dandy night at Eureka 89 on Friday as the Dandenong Journal’s sports team clinched a major cricket award.
Clinching the state cricketing body’s highest photographic accolade was Dandenong Journal photojournalist Jarrod Potter.
Jarrod was named the Photography Award winner for his picture of Dandenong Cricket Club’s simple tribute to deceased Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes at the Cricket Victoria State and Media Awards night.
Doubling the Star News Group success on the night was Sports Editor David Nagel, who claimed the Country Award for his profile of Peter ‘Bun’ O’Hare, who tragically passed away days after the article was written.
