Threat empties college

KEYSBOROUGH College was evacuated due to a hoax threat about 8.40am on Thursday morning 4 February.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said a man had approached a student outside the Noble Park campus, who “relayed a threat to the school and the students”.
Police were determining the circumstances of the incident and whether an offence had occurred, she said.
Principal John Baston confirmed the threat did not fit in the pattern of hundreds of recent automated hoax calls received by schools across Australia since 29 January.
Mr Baston said the received threat warned: “Something is going to happen”.
All students were then evacuated as police searched the school “end to end”, he said.
After the all-clear, students returned to classes by noon.
“The kids are well at the moment,” Mr Baston said.
The evacuation followed similar scares at schools across Victoria over the past week. In those cases the bomb threats were made in automated telephone calls.
