ARTISTS need to flag their interest in Cultural Threads by Friday 11 March.
The City of Greater Dandenong will celebrate textile arts and cultural diversity through the return of the program in August.
It was a finalist for Vic Health’s Building Health Through Art Award in 2015 and will deliver art installations, creative programming and interactive workshops across the municipality.
The council is looking for artists who are interested in getting involved through facilitating workshops, delivering community-based projects or creating temporary installations.
Through the medium of textiles, people are encouraged to connect, trade skills, share stories and interweave their cultures.
Events will be held at various venues across the municipality including at Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, the Drum Theatre, Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens, Greater Dandenong Libraries and Harmony Square.
Intricate and colourful installations will adorn the city throughout the event.
A full program of all public activities, workshops and events will be released in the coming months.
