Thieves armed with a wooden pole raided a Dandenong North pizza shop in front of frightened customers.
Police said that two men driving a white sedan pulled up outside the Carlton Road store about 9.52pm on Thursday 9 November.
They entered the store, one carrying the weapon, kicked through the gated counter area and took cash from the till.
The store’s owners, aged 61 and 64, and their 36-year-old son were behind the counter at the time and retaliated against the thieves.
They fled the scene as customers inside and outside the store looked on.
Police urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
