Golf day for child research

THE sixth annual Bailey’s Day at Southern Golf Club in Keysborough aims to raise $100,000 this year for the research and treatment of paediatric cancer.
The golf day, luncheon and charitable auction on Tuesday 8 December will be hosted by the Victorian Retail Automotive Industry.
Bailey’s Day has raised almost $600,000 over the past five years in memory of Bailey who died of a brain tumour in 2004 at just two-and-a-half years old.
The funds are donated to Monash Medical Centre in Clayton for the treatment of children with cancer at the Children’s Cancer Centre.
Bailey’s parents, Kerryn and Patrick Tessier, conceived the idea for Bailey’s Day after experiencing the lack of hospital funding first hand. While Bailey was being treated, children with cancer at Southern Health’s Monash Children’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital were only being treated two days a week, with resources and expertise divided between the two hospitals.
Tracy Bartram and Bob Valentine will donate their time to the event, providing entertainment on the day and former 60 Minutes journalist Ian Leslie will once again host the event.
The auction includes items such as full page advertisements in the Herald Sun Carsguide and the Drive section of the Age; radio advertising with Vega and 3AW; sports memorabilia and more.
For bookings and information, contact Belinda Holt on 9576 8900 or visit www.baileysday.com.au.
