DANDY Pals has proven itself to be more than just a playgroup – it offers a range of services with top-notch staff.
After three years of operation, Dandenong Primary School’s playgroup for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers received a five star award from Playgroup Victoria last month.
The credit indicates the playgroup has completed a Five Star Playgroup Victoria training course, consisting of five modules.
Well-being officer Elissa Sewell said the playgroup was the first in the City of Greater Dandenong with the impressive rating.
“We are very excited about how Dandy Pals has been developing and growing and meeting the needs of the community,” she said. Ms Sewell said the playgroup offered a wide range of services, which benefited both the young children that attended and their parents.
“We have a maternal and child health nurse once a week – parents can get their children weighed, which is fantastic,” she said. “We have a psychologist who comes in that can offer support. We have interesting guest speakers that come in every week and we have people from the library that come and parents can borrow books.”
Dandy Pals, is a free serviceand runs from 9am until 11am on Fridays. Anyone wanting more information can contact Ms Sewill on 9792 2743 or email her on sewell.elissa.j@edumail.vic.gov.au.
