Noble moveson up

NOBLE PARK continued its winning form and moved to third on the ladder after a comfortable four-wicket victory over lowly-placed Sunshine at Pat Wright Senior Oval on Saturday.
Having sent Sunshine in to bat it wasn’t long before the wickets fell as the visitors slumped to 3/26. The next two partnerships of 21 and 55 got them over the 100-mark but soon crumbled as they lost their last six wickets for 18 runs.
Jake D’Atri led the bowling attack with 3/20 and was supported by a pack of bowlers – Jake Richardson (3/25), Marasinghe Perera (2/17) and Matthew Crozier (2/14).
With a small target to get, Noble Park lost an early wicket of A. Bradshaw at 1/6 but slowly recovered with a 47-run partnership between Andrew O’Meara and Dean Edmunds (31).
A middle-order collapse saw Noble Park lose 5/31, but they were able to steady through all-rounder Perera who guided his team home and remained unbeaten on 33 from 30 balls.
Noble Park now head into the mid-season Christmas break on four wins, one draw and one loss and look to be in a solid position to play finals next year.
