THE multi-purpose hall and gymnasium at Keysborough’s Mt Hira College is finished and ready to be used.
Last week, the Commonwealth-funded hall and gym was officially opened by Federal Isaacs MP Mark Dreyfus.
“This substantial upgrade to Mt Hira’s facilities will boost the quality of education delivered to students,” Mr Dreyfus said.
Principal Pat Gay said that the new facilities were a wonderful addition to the college.
“We’ve never had a space where we can have a whole school assembly.”
The gym and hall have been in operation since the beginning of last term.
“The Preps to the Year 12s are so excited about the gym,” Ms Gay said.
Mt Hira College received $125,000 to fund an upgrade to the sporting grounds, and $850,000 went towards the gym and hall.
The upgrade to the facilities forms part of the government’s Building the Education Revolution program.
