A PATROLLING traffic management unit from Springvale Police Station arrested a man for armed robbery five minutes after a service station attendant was robbed at knife point.
A man entered a Heatherton Road service station in Springvale about 5pm on Sunday armed with a knife and threatened the store assistant, who sustained superficial lacerations to his neck during the ordeal.
The offender then fled up Heatherton Road with an amount of cash.
A police car patrolling nearby arrested a man aged in his mid-20s, who fitted the description given by Springvale Police of a man wearing a big jacket on a 38-degree day.
A quantity of cash was located on the Springvale man.
The man has been charged with armed robbery, threats to kill and other offences.
He was remanded in custody.
