A 2500-signature petition opposing the Lyndhurst tip’s receipt of toxic waste was tabled at Monday night’s council meeting.
Dandenong Ward councillor Jim Memeti, who tabled the petition on behalf of action group Residents Against Toxic Waste In The South East (RATWISE) said the petition was almost larger than life.
“It is the biggest petition I’ve ever had handed to me,” he said.
