Detectives face charges

THREE Springvale police officers are facing charges after police executed a number of warrants in Springvale.
Raids were conducted by the Office of Police Integrity (OPI) and the Ethical Standards Department (ESD) on the police officers’ homes on 23 November.
Assistant Commissioner Kieran Walshe of the ESD said three detective senior constables of the Springvale CIU were jointly questioned by OPI and ESD investigators.
“Property was discovered during the raids described as DVDs and tools, and there was an air rifle discovered,” he said.
“The investigation is continuing.”
The three officers were arrested and subsequently suspended.
They are expected to be charged on summons with theft-related offences.
