Assault after fast food rage

A McDONALD’S employee was attacked by a customer who police say had complained he did not receive a soft drink with his Combo meal.
Springvale police are appealing for witnesses to the incident at the McDonald’s in Browns Road, Noble Park, on 4 March.
Police said about 1am a male driving a blue Ford sedan complained to a drive-through window attendant that he had waited up to 10 minutes for his meal .
After the man was served he parked in a nearby carpark and returned in store to complain that he did not get a drink he ordered.
The man returned shortly after with another male and three females and noticed the McDonald’s employee at the rear of the store.
He leapt across the counter and ran through the kitchen to the rear office.
The staff member attempted to run but received several blows to the head, before falling to the ground where he was kicked.
It is believed the three female companions dragged the man away from the staff member before fleeing the premises. The staff member was left with bruising and swelling to the head.
Police wish to speak with a man described as of Maori appearance, 30 to 35 years of age, of solid build, with a hair style similar to an Afro.
He was wearing a sleeveless top. Information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
