A MAN was killed when he was hit by traffic on the Monash Freeway near Dandenong this week.
Police said the man was struck and killed by a truck and a car about 300 metres south-east of the Stud Road overpass about 1am on Tuesday.
Police have been told the man walked on to the roadway in front of traffic on the inbound lanes of the freeway.
Investigators blocked the lanes between Heatherton and Stud roads.
Traffic was diverted off the freeway at Heatherton Road and back on to the freeway at Stud Road.
The man, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, died at the scene.
Investigations into the incident are continuing.
