A DANDENONG man has died after his neck was slashed near the Crown Casino on Saturday.
The 20-year-old African-born man died at the scene after he was stabbed during an altercation between two groups of youths.
Police have charged a 17-year-old man with murder.
Another man was also stabbed in the incident and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene after reports of a disturbance in Whiteman Street at about 2am.
Police have arrested a number of people over the incident and inquiries are continuing and are still establishing the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The death is the seventh stabbing-related killing in Melbourne this month.
The Bellfield man appeared in Melbourne Children’s Court on Monday charged with murder and was remanded in custody to appear on 31 July.
