Mayor, CEO set for China trip

By Shaun Inguanzo
RATEPAYERS will fork out $6000 to send the mayor and council CEO to China in October for a Sister Cities celebration.
Greater Dandenong is the sister city of Xuzhou in Jiangsu Province. In May, it was invited to send a delegation to Nanjing, another provincial city, in October.
The celebration is not to specifically honour its relationship with Greater Dandenong, but 30 years of the province and 13 cities opening their doors to sister city relationships around the world.
Councillors voted in favour of sending mayor John Kelly and CEO John Bennie to the celebration at the cost of $6000.
The celebration will run between 27 and 30 October.
