Study aid for parents

PARENTS undertaking tertiary studies will have access to an extra year of child care payments, according to the Federal Government.
Isaacs MP Mark Dreyfus this week said that his government would increase payments nationally by $24 million over the next four years to encourage more parents to return to work.
“This helps local families improve their circumstances and helps the community by getting more people trained and back into the workforce,” Mr Dreyfus said.
The Jobs Education and Training (JET) payment formerly supported parents for their first year of studies but has now been extended to two years.
