National conference

By Lia Bichel
CONSTELLATIONS Central Services staff from all over Australia gathered at Chifley Doveton for a national conference on the weekend.
This was the first Constellation Hotels conference held at the newly developed Doveton hotel.
Constellation Hotels are the management company for Chifley Hotels we well as Australis, Country Comfort and Sundowner hotels across Australia and New Zealand.
Cameron Stewart, Constellation Hotels Director of Operations, said Chifley Doveton was the ideal choice for this year’s conference.
The conference provided management and staff with the opportunity to discuss the future outlook of the hotels, participate in team challenges and learn about business planning and operating platform re-setting in preparation for the 2010 – 2011 financial year. Mr Stewart said there had been great interest in the hotel from community groups, residents and businesses.
“We certainly had thought this would be the first large event for the hotel, however we are delighted that interest in the hotel from the local business community has far exceeded our business plan and many of our dedicated function and event spaces are occupied every day,” he said. “One company utilised the largest of the function spaces which can accommodate up to 300, chose to book out the function floor, the café on the ground floor, and the tavern for a major event just last month.
“It reinforces the decision to develop the hotel and the potential need for this style of accommodation, function, and event venue in the region.”
