PLAY in the Dandenong District and Victorian Sub-District Cricket Associations will go ahead as normal this week, despite rain bringing a halt to the majority of last week’s matches.
The VDCA’s Noble Park and DDCA’s Turf grades were both planning on beginning their two-day matches last Saturday but heavy rain prevented a full days play.
Most matches only managed one quarter of the required 80 overs before rain set in, causing captains to declare it a day.
Cancelled rounds and postponed matches have been an unwanted hallmark to the start of the 2010/11 cricket season and captains will again make a decision next week whether the abandoned overs can be revived.
