POLICE seized a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when they swooped on the Rebels Australia motorcycle clubhouse in Springvale on Monday.
Police cut a large hole in the garage door of the Virginia Street clubhouse on Monday morning to execute a warrant under the Liquor Control Reform Act.
Police seized a “substantial amount” of alcohol, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a small amount of drugs.
Inspector Chris Major said police suspect the motorcycle was stolen.
Insp Major said the police recovered a large amount of alcohol at the premise.
“There was a lot more than what you would expect someone to consume among a few friends,” he said. “We suspect it was being sold at premise.”
Insp Major said no charges had been laid and their were ongoing inquiries in relation to offences or breaches of the Liquor Control Reform Act.
“There are still ongoing inquiries as to what offences these people need to be spoken to about,” he said.
“We have spoken to their legal counsel as well and they will be contacted in due course once we sort out what offences they are applicable to from what we recovered (Monday).”
Insp Major said there was no trouble as police executed the warrants.
“On initial entry there were no people present, but within a short period of time some people responsible for the premises appeared,” he said.
“There was no trouble when they turned up.”
