ALL the single ladies, head to Greater Dandenong.
New data, released by relationship website eHarmony last week, revealed that the Greater Dandenong area is home to the most single men looking for love in Australia.
The area shared the top spot with the region of North West Queensland, which includes the towns of Mount Isa and Cloncurry, with single men making up 64 per cent of the people looking for love in both regions.
The findings, collected from more than 120,000 singles who registered with eHarmony.com.au in the last six months, revealed Australia’s ‘love hot spots’ – the places across the country where there are more singles looking for love.
eHarmony Country Manager Jason Chuck said however there was no need for singles to pack up and move Greater Dandenong just yet.
“More and more Australians, from all over the country are looking online for love, as it’s a great way of finding a partner either in your area or across Australia,” said Mr Chuck.
“Given the number of single Australians looking for love online it’s really important that people give themselves the best chance of finding the right person.”
Compared to the national average, people in Victoria are two per cent less likely to be looking for love.
Within the state however, Melbourne is home to the most people looking for love.
Victorian love hot spots included Docklands, St Kilda, Southbank and South Yarra.
Mr Chuck said eHarmony used a scientific approach to match people that were compatible across key dimensions that were proven indicators of relationship success, such as your character, humour, energy levels and communication.
“This means when members are matched to someone, whether they live next door or interstate, they know that match is suited to them,” he said.
