Percy’s top billing

LOCAL product and US tour professional Cameron Percy will headline the field for today’s Keysborough Golf Club pro-am event.
The 36-year-old Dingley resident, who lost his US PGA Tour card in dramatic circumstances last year, will be a warm favourite to take out the prestigious one-round tournament on a familiar Keysborough layout.
A field of 60 professionals will vie for their share of $15,000 in prize-money, teeing off alongside their amateur playing partners in two shotgun starts at 7.30am and 12.45pm. Defending champion Sean Crowe, who shot a 67 to win last year, is not in the field.
Percy was denied a card-saving victory in the Shiner’s Hospitals event in Las Vegas last October, when American Jonathan Byrd made a hole-in-one to win the three-way play-off. Entry is free to the public. Keysborough Golf Club is on Hutton Road.
