DANDENONG CFA has welcomed back an important member of the team.
The Bronto Skylift, a 42-metre-high rescue ladder, is back on the job after being taken for repairs in October last year.
CFA’s acting operations officer Glenn Proebstl said the use of MFB’s ladder platform had allowed Dandenong Fire Brigade to continue to respond to incidents but the station was glad to welcome Bronto back.
“Dandenong Fire Brigade is glad to have its Bronto Skylift back at the station,” he said.
“We have carried out several test runs over the past few days and I’m extremely pleased with its performance and capabilities. I’m looking forward to its return to service,” Mr Proebstl said.
The Bronto Skylift can discharge 4000 litres of water per minute and provide below-ground rescue assistance by lowering five metres and can reach out 21 metres.
