FLATPACK fanatics lined up for hours to be one of the first through the doors of Springvale IKEA.
Thousands of shoppers queued from the early hours to take part in pre-opening activities before the official opening at 10am.
An IKEA representative said more than 20,000 shoppers took to the 36,000 square metre store during the opening day, with similar numbers over the opening weekend.
Star photographer Kim Cartmell was there for all the opening morning mayhem.
