DANDENONG continued its stellar start to the SEABL season with a four-point win over the greatly-improved Mt Gambier.
Despite a great run home from the Pioneers, Dandenong’s first half proved too strong as Daequon Montreal (28 points, nine rebounds, four assists) dominated the visitors up and down the court, with coach Darren Perry splitting the minutes on his other players.
Andrew Harmes (13 points, five rebounds, nine assists) pulled in some nice numbers to signal the potential for a rare point-guard triple-double this season.
Keeping the import numbers stratospheric was Tony Lewis (15 points, six rebounds), getting it done in the forward half.
Dandenong sits atop the SEABL East Conference ladder on percentage over Canberra.
In a rematch of the 2012 East Conference final, Dandenong hosts Geelong at home on 6 April from 7.30pm.
The Rangers’ women return to the court next week, an awkward four week sequence with a week on and week off twice, when they face Geelong.
