Nothing… but good football

FOOTBALL FEDERATION VICTORIA – NATIONAL PREMIER LEAGUES
NIL-ALL… some of the best clashes end in this lacklustre score line, but to their credit Pascoe Vale and Dandenong Thunder turned on the magic despite an inability to find the back of the net.
Dandenong nearly opened their account on a couple of early occasions as Rama Tavsancioglu earned the first strike only for it to be well stopped.
Strong chances failed to be capitalised upon as the Thunder had attempts at goal – created by the sprinting efforts of Kris Kioussis, Keiran Dover and Ilir Pali.
The extra point gives Thunder a handy three-point buffer from the relegation zone.
Dandenong and the NPL take the week off with catch-up games and the Dockerty Cup final scheduled this weekend.
In NPL1 results, Springvale White Eagles emerged with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over FC Bendigo via second-half goals to Milan Jovanovic and Vojislav Milojevic. Dandenong City conceded a 0-2 loss to ladder leading Avondale Heights at home.
DOCKERTY CUP AND FFA CUP
IT has been an exciting week for South Springvale with the announcement of its FFA Cup Round-of-16 opponent and the lead in to its inaugural Dockerty Cup final berth.
The Aris’ boys will tan up in Queensland after drawing NPLQ Palm Beach Sharks following their defeat of Northern New South Wales opponents’ South Cardiff on penalties last month – match dates will be confirmed this week.
The more pressing matter for Aris will be its inaugural Dockerty Cup final as it clashes with NPL side Melbourne Knights on Sunday 31 August at South Melbourne’s Lakeside Stadium.
