Two outa two… there ain’t no more

By JASON ADAMS

IT WAS yet another good night of racing at Sandown Park on Thursday evening, especially for trainer Darryl Connor.
Connor’s Beyond Rapid took out the first of the night in impressive fashion winning in 29.78. Just two races later Connor’s second runner, Blingified, completed the winning double at odds of $24.10.
The doggy duo is the only racing greyhounds in Connor’s Cranbourne kennel, underlining his achievement.
Dyna Yemen continued the Dailly kennel’s hot run of form when he took out the first leg of the quaddie. Dyna Yemen uncharacteristically sprung out of box one and didn’t look back, going on to win by nine lengths in a best-of-night 29.17.
Young star Yadi recorded his eighth win on the trot and first over 595m. The Kel Greenough prepared speedster found himself midfield down the back straight, however powered home to claim an impressive win.
Litter brothers It’s A Blast and It’s A Plane went head to head in the Add us on Snapchat Novice final. It’s A Blast prevailed by two lengths from the fast finishing It’s A Plane in a fast 34.12.
The pair already boast an impressive resume having only recently turned two-years-old, and trainer Wayne Vassallo will no doubt contemplate nominating them for the Group 2 McKenna Memorial.
Heats of the McKenna Memorial will be held on Thursday evening, with the $47,000 final to be run Thursday, 9 July in conjunction with the club’s Vegas Night that will include a Johnny Cash tribute show and various Casino games.
