 Queen of Katwe screening
The free Sunset Cinema is returning with Queen of Katwe.
Viewers can bring a blanket, chairs and a picnic every Friday night until 16 March.

Garnar Lane Lightboxes
The light boxes are visible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to people moving through the laneway.
In this exhibition, photographer David Wadelton presents images of the milk bar, the fish and chip shop, apartment blocks, newsagents, old shop signs, long-closed businesses and back lanes.
– Garnar Lane between Thomas and Lonsdale Streets, Dandenong. Until Saturday 31 March.
Park feedback sessions
Greater Dandenong Council wants help to shape the future of Burden Park and Parkfield Reserve.
These sessions will collect information from park users to create master plans.
– Burden Park, corner Heatherton and Springvale roads, Springvale South. Saturday 17 February, 9am to noon. Parkfield Reserve, Dunblane Road, Noble Park. Saturday 17 February, 1pm to 4pm.
Lion dancers at the plaza
Lion dancers will welcome the Chinese New Year, the year of the dog.
– Level two at Dandenong Plaza, McCrae Street, Dandenong. Saturday 17 February, 1pm.
Perambulations
Ivan Macarambon’s art deals with conflicts – the conflict between the traditional and the contemporary, the pure and the adulterated, the past and the future.
– Gallery One at Walker Street Gallery and Arts Centre, corner Walker and Robinson streets, Dandenong. Until Saturday 24 February. Gallery opens Tuesday to Friday, 11am to 5pm, and Saturday, 11am to 3pm.
Back to nature
The Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve is open every Friday and on the third Sunday of the month during summer and autumn.
The reserve is ideal for casual walks or enjoying a family barbecue or picnic.
Council park rangers are available for guided tours.
Live steamers mini-trains are available for rides on Sunday open days. Closed-toe shoes are required for train rides.

Family fun at the library
Children and their carers can enjoy Lego, chess, puzzles and games.
Playing games together can improve literacy, numeracy, spatial awareness, socially appropriate behaviour and fair play.
This event is free and no booking is required.
– Springvale Library, 411 Springvale Road, Springvale. Saturdays during school terms, 11am. Call 1300 630 920 for more information.
