KIDS across Greater Dandenong turned bookworms last week, to celebrate Book Week 2013.
The oldest children’s festival in Australia ran from 17 to 23 August this year with the theme Read Across the Universe.
The event celebrates books, Australian authors and illustrators, and highlights the importance of reading.
Haileybury’s Newlands campus, in Keysborough, welcomed authors John Kilner, Michael Wagner, Sally Rippin, Oliver Phommevanh and Emilie Zoey Baker for readings and workshops during its celebrations.
Noble Park Primary School held a dress-up day, where students embodied their favourite book characters, from Bob the Builder to Mr Tickle and Barbie.
