A MAN armed with a knife has robbed a Dandenong South service station.
Springvale Embona Taskforce detectives are calling for public help to identify the culprit and have released CCTV footage and stills from the incident.
They allege the man entered the South Gippsland Highway business about 1.45am on Friday 29 August, and approached the counter to buy a packet of gum but didn’t have enough money.
He retrieved cash from his car, returned and paid for the gum, then produced a silver knife and demanded the attendant hand over money.
Detective Senior Constable Kim Alp said the bandit handed the attendant a white plastic bag, which they filled with cash and returned.
The robber fled the store and was last seen entering a light-coloured station wagon and driving toward Dandenong.
Police urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.

Watch CCTV footage.
