KEYSBOROUGH Freedom Club is desperately seeking a new attraction for its market fund-raiser.
The Lamborghini that was to deliver rides at the not-for-profit occasional care centre’s Sunday 9 November event was involved in a car crash late last week.
Vice-president Michelle Galvin said the market would raise funds to enable the Corrigan Road service to continue providing high-quality, affordable occasional care.
She urged any vehicle businesses that could provide assistance to call her on 0434 271 996 or email kfcfundraising@gmail.com.
“The generosity of the local community and businesses in assisting us this year has been overwhelming and will certainly help Freedom Club reach our 40th anniversary in 2015,” Ms Galvin said.
“We cater for about 100 children from the age of six weeks to five years during the school term, providing both a social environment for the kids and a much-needed break for the parents.
“We rely quite heavily on government assistance and fund-raising from our committee.”
Ms Galvin has lived in the area for five years and frequently drove past the Freedom Club.
“However, I was not aware of Freedom Club until early 2012 when a friend from mother’s group suggested I put my son in there with her daughter,” she said.
“It was with this word of mouth that I have met such a wonderful, caring group of women who I trust implicitly with both my children.
“My second son started there at six weeks old.”
The market will have 25-plus stalls selling jewellery, Tupperware, clothing, crafts, candles, chocolate, kids’ character clothing, skin care, handmade goodies and more.
There’ll also be a disco, face painting, jumping castle, mini golf, food and drinks, a barbecue and raffles.
The market will run from noon to 4pm at Springers Leisure Centre, 400 Cheltenham Road, Keysborough. Entry and parking are free.
