Three into one to go great

THE three racing codes will unite for one action-packed night of racing for the running of the City of Casey Tricodes Night on Saturday 22 November.
Tricodes night showcases what’s great about the Cranbourne Racing Centre (CRC) with three codes – thoroughbred, harness and greyhound – racing together on the same night.
It’s renowned as the busiest raceday in Australia with 24 races, eight from each code, run in the space of five hours.
Cranbourne Turf Club and Harness Club chief executive officer Neil Bainbridge said the unique event to the CRC, which has been running since annually 2002, would be special this year for a number of reasons.
“For the first time the event will be held on a Saturday night under lights and it will also be the first tricodes utilising the club’s new grandstand facilities,” he said.
“Tricodes is one the most exciting events on the racing calendar with non-stop action all night.
“There really is no other racing in the world like Tricodes Night when we see the best of the thoroughbred, harness and greyhound industries on display at the one venue and on the one night.
“If all the action on the tracks isn’t enough, there will also be entertainment and children’s activities trackside for the whole family to enjoy.
“I encourage anyone who is looking for a great Saturday night to mark 22 November in their diary and head along to the City of Casey Tricodes Night.”
The event kicks off a big month of racing in Cranbourne, with racing continuing on a weekly basis under lights each Saturday night in December, highlighted by the running of the Decron Cranbourne Pacing Cup on Saturday 6 December.
Gates will open at 4.30pm for the tricodes event, with the first race to get underway at 5.43pm and the last to start at 10.47pm.
