A NEIGHBOUR came to the rescue of a 70-year-old Springvale woman whose garage went up in flames.
They saw fire coming from the Lee Avenue property about 2am on 29 January, jumped their fence into the victim’s back yard and alerted her to the blaze.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Senior Constable Tony Lavars said the woman lived alone.
The CFA contained the fire to the garage, he said, and its cause was suspicious given the time and the fact it had no electricity supply.
Sen Const Lavars urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
