A DANDENONG South salesman has displayed his skills against 21 peers from across Australia.
Jason Cugley travelled to Hino headquarters in Caringbah, Sydney, to compete at the annual Hino Motor Sales Australia Skills Contest on Thursday 15 October.
The 33-year-old represented Dandenong South truck dealer Prestige Hino in a group Sale of the Century-style game show quiz and an individual quiz and role-play exercise.
Hino Motors manager Tsuyoshi Kawabata and deputy general manager Hiroshige Fukuoka travelled from Japan for the event
Hino Australia chairman and CEO Steve Lotter and president and chief operating officer Shunichi Takahashi were also present.
“We appreciate all our contestants who have worked so hard to earn a place in the finals, and we look forward to next year’s event,” Mr Lotter said.
He said the contest helped his team to be at the leading edge of sales and service.
Parts and service contestants completed hypothetical exercises to test their diagnostic and parts interpretation skills, and participated in a situational exercise to display their prowess under pressure.
Dealer principal Angelo Valerio said Mr Cugley was a valuable employee who did great work for customers on a daily basis.
“We’re very proud for him to be representing Prestige Hino at the Skills Contest,” he said.
