Road rage victim run over by stolen car

A MAN was run over by a stolen car during a road rage incident in Noble Park.
The 30-year-old Altona Meadows man suffered a badly broken leg and head injuries and was taken to The Alfred hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Greater Dandenong CIU Detective Sergeant Luke Kirton said the victim was exiting the 7-Eleven at Corrigan Road and Princes Highway about 2.45am on Monday 2 November.
A Volkswagon Golf hatch stolen from Glen Waverley earlier that night sideswiped the victim’s car and an altercation occurred between both drivers.
The man behind the wheel of the stolen car got out and fled on foot.
The victim gave chase, but Det Sgt Kirton said a nearby parked vehicle sprang into action, struck the man and threw him over its bonnet.
He said police recovered the forensically examined Golf but believed two other stolen vehicles were involved – a small silver Kia sedan and a black Honda Civic sedan.
Det Sgt Kirton appealed for anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
He said this victim wouldn’t have foreseen an accomplice being nearby, but advised people against taking matters into their own hands.
“Their first option should be to call triple-zero,” he said.
