Wise counsel says we need more women

MORE women should put their hand up for a seat on council, the State Government said on International Women’s Day.
Greater Dandenong has three female councillors out of 11.
Local Government Minister Natalie Hutchins said that less than 35 per cent of all Victorian councillors were women and it was high time that councils were representative of the communities they served.
She wrote to all mayors seeking their support in encouraging more women to stand as candidates for this year’s 22 October election.
