Keysborough and Springvale students were among the winners at the Premier’s VCE Awards.
Minaret College Springvale campus principal Sead Omerovic congratulated Tamana Geyasi, who was recognised for achieving excellent results in the subject texts and traditions last year.
“She obtained a perfect score of 50, the only perfect score in Victoria in that study,” he said.
“In the presence of her mother, Perwen, and brother, Samir, Tamana received the award from the
Deputy Premier (James Merlino).”
Mr Omerovic and Tamana’s teacher for the subject, Ahmad Naushad, also attended the ceremony on Thursday 27 April.
Mr Merlino, who’s also the Education Minister, presented almost 300 awards at the gala event.
He said the awards recognised young Victorians who had completed the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) with distinction.
Several Haileybury College Keysborough campus students were also among local recipients.
Aditya Gupta, a Year 11 student, earned his award for accounting.
A perfect study score was his goal for the subject and he achieved it through hard work, including completing more than 60 trial examinations.
Cindy Zhong was awarded for her perfect score in further mathematics.
