World through a child’s eye

Topsy-turvy wall art is spreading smiles in Springvale.
Students from neighbouring Springvale Rise Primary School worked with artist Julian Clavijo to create temporary public art installation Upside Down.
The colourful, larger-than-life painting of an upside-down grinning child will adorn the United Energy substation in the Warwick Avenue car park for the next two years.
The image aims to remind viewers to embrace the child-like feeling that resides in everyone, and to view the world through a child’s eye – with natural happiness, an innate sense of innocence and spontaneity.
The artwork is part of the Greater Dandenong Council Transformed Placemaking Program.
