Knocked to the ground in theft

A thief snatched a 72-year-old woman’s handbag and knocked her to the ground in Noble Park.
Greater Dandenong CIU detectives have released CCTV footage following the incident on Frank Street, about 10am on Monday 27 November.
The victim was walking with her husband when the thief struck her from behind.
She fell, hit her face on the concrete footpath and lost consciousness.
The thief grabbed the bag and ran off through a nearby park.
The bag was later found in a nearby toilet block, the cash that was inside missing.
The victim was treated for a black eye, cuts and scrapes and a possible fracture.
Investigators said the man in CCTV footage and stills could assist with their inquiries and urged anyone who recognised him or had any other information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 00 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
